They say good things come to those who wait.  There are many benefits to getting older and wiser, though they're not always so obvious.  Between the legal drinking age and the age when you get senior citizen benefits, there aren't a lot of milestones that earn you benefits or discounts, that is aside from the little-known car rental policy regarding driver's age.

23 is the new 18

What's so special about being 23?  You can adopt a dog, you can study a foreign language, and you can finally rent a car!  Those first two things might not be specifically limited to 23 years of age and older, but the last one is.  Its a wonder why more young adults don't celebrate their 23rd birthday by going out and renting a car.  Seriously, its not likely that a 23 year old can afford cars like a BMW X5 car hire, so why not rent one and take your friends out to celebrate your birthday for all its worth?

Cheap car rental for 25+

However, once you turn 25 you get even more benefits.  Although 23 and 24 year olds who have held a driver's license for at least a year will be permitted by car rental companies to reserve a car hire, they will pay a bit more for it.  The young driver's surcharge is 13.33 GBP per day (excluding tax).  25 represents a milestone of maturity and rental discounts, to car rental companies at least.
