The football game was held in the city of Heredia, and was between the teams from Heredia and Alajuela. The game was not until 4 in the afternoon, but from the first traffic of the morning the citizens of Heredia were honking their horns in celebratory salute to their team. For the folks of Heredia, just making it to the final game was a major victory to be proud of; something that hasn't happened for this city in several years. The streets downtown surrounding the stadium were filled with fans sporting their local colors of yellow and red. Some painted their faces, others dressed up their dogs, and several had huge yellow and red flags waving from their cars in one way or another.
