More people booking travel online

In Early 2011, holidaymakers are booking more holidays online than ever before, according to independent reports by Capgemini and Experian Hitwise. 

Understandably as the world's economic situation has not been ideal for the traveller, the tourism industry suffered. But the independent reports show that consumer confidence in the travel sector has returned and people are travelling more than ever before.  

Especially following Christmas, winter sun holidays and beach holidays became popular with people looking to escape the winter weather. Also showing a sharp increase in the report was winter ski holidays.
