Volcanoes in Costa Rica

From north to south Costa Rica has a lot of mountains forming four main ranges in the country. The only one of them without volcanoes is the Talamanca Range, yet it does have the highest mountains in the country, including the Mount Chirripo, which is the country’s highest point.

You can reach some of the volcanoes craters, some others you’ll have to see from the distance due to security policies. But regardless of how close you can get to them they all offer fantastic features, like the Poas crater being the world’s second biggest crater; the Irazu from which you’ll be able to see the Arenal Volcano with an almost perfect cone offering visitors great views with frequent activity.
