Foodie Warning for US Travelers

Recently I've been giving some attention to the foodies, those travelers who are focused first and foremost on the flavors and cultural dishes of their worldly destinations by car rental.  It's always fun to point out the best, the most unique, the most popular, and traditional foods to check out by car hire, but what about the bad stuff?  In this bit of car hire advice for foodies I have a few words of warning from the famous Food Revolution chef Jamie Oliver.

In this short video from the season premiere of Jamie Oliver's new show Food Revolution he does a very educational demonstration to teach parents and children (and we the viewers at home) why you should be very careful about the ground beef you eat.  Although this practice in beef processing that is so appalling occurs in the United States, it is likely happening in other places around the world.

I'm sure after watching this video all the food lovers planning on renting a car in the United States are feeling pretty uneasy.  Don't fret quite yet.  When it comes to the food situation in the United States (and around the world) this is just part of the bad news.  It's important to be aware of so that we can make good choices, but now lets focus on the good news...

As you plan your tour of the United States by car hire add a few farmer's markets to your route!  There you can find the very best, the crem de la crem, organic, grass-fed, free range, hormone free, and what have you.  Buying beef (or anything else for that matter) from the farmer's market is also a great way to speak directly with the producers.  Quality meats aren't just processed respectfully, like Jamie Oliver said, but they come from animals who lived quality lives.  Real foodies know what I'm talking about.  Check with [Recently I've been giving some attention to the foodies, those travelers who are focused first and foremost on the flavors and cultural dishes of their worldly destinations by car rental.  It's always fun to point out the best, the most unique, the most popular, and traditional foods to check out by car hire, but what about the bad stuff?  In this bit of car hire advice for foodies I have a few words of warning from the famous Food Revolution chef Jamie Oliver.
